Nagata TC Needle Holder Forceps (Smooth Tip)

Nagata” is a style or model name of surgical needle holder.

“TC” indicates tungsten carbide inserts in the jaws (i.e. the gripping surfaces). These are harder than stainless steel, resist wear, and maintain better grip over time.

“Smooth Tip” (or “smooth TC jaws”) means the jaws’ inner surfaces are smooth (rather than serrated/cross‑serrated). This is chosen when you want minimal damage or scoring on the needle surface — e.g. in microsurgery or delicate suturing.

Because of the smooth surface, the grip on the needle is less aggressive; the tradeoff is less slippage but less maximal locking force compared to serrated types
