 Maxillofacial instruments are specially designed tools used in surgeries involving the jaw, face, and oral cavity, often for trauma, pathology, or reconstructive procedures.

Used for cutting bone, soft tissue, or sutures.

1. Scalpel (Bard-Parker Handle)

   • Used with detachable blades for precise soft tissue incisions.

2. Osteotomes, Chisels, and Gouges

   • Used for controlled cutting and reshaping of bone. Osteotomes are beveled on both sides, chisels on one side.

3. Rongeurs (e.g., Blumenthal, Luer-Friedman)

   • Bone-cutting forceps used to trim or remove bone.

4. Bone Files (e.g., Miller-Colburn)

   • Used to smooth bone margins after cutting.

5. Bone Saws (e.g., Gigli Saw)

   • Flexible wire saw used to cut bone, especially in osteotomies.
